Crunch Care, Inc. was founded by Stacie Steelman who began her career in the corporate staffing industry. Starting out as a Recruiter, she interviewed and placed hundreds of accounting and financial professionals for Adecco Corporation, a $5 billion global recruitment leader. Stacie quickly worked her way up to corporate management, taking a leadership role as a Division Manager and overseeing the Los Angeles market while supporting her team through a major acquisition.

After 5 years in the industry, Stacie relocated to the San Diego area and got married. She continued to develop her career in the staffing industry for 2 additional years, working for a boutique recruitment firm that focused on the mortgage, accounting, and administrative markets. A sample of her clients included: The Del Mar Racetrack, The Home Depot Company, First American Insurance Corporation, and Petco.

Stacie was next recruited by The Active Network (Active.com) to help develop a sales and marketing team for a new product, focusing on the non-profit market. A sample of her clients included: Girls On Run International, Susan G. Komen Races for the Cure, and Make a Wish Foundation. After two years of spearheading the department and developing a successful revenue stream, Stacie and her husband had their first child and she made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother.

Recognizing the obvious need in the San Diego market for reliable, trustworthy, "on call" in-home care solutions, Stacie began her new venture by founding Crunch Care, Inc which specializes in the recruitment of babysitters, nannies, and caregivers for newborns, children, the elderly, and post-surgical patients.  Her experience in the corporate recruiting industry hiring over 500 professionals, and as a mother of a young child in the San Diego area allow her to bring a unique approach to the in-home care industry.

Shortly after going into business by means of a local parent group, Stacie connected with Julie Kelly who shared a very similar background from the corporate recruiting world, working for Robert Half International on the east coast in her pre-children career.  For the past 3 years Julie has provided excellent customer service, management, strong recruiting and qualification skills to the team.  Julie is the mother of two children ages 3 and 6 years old. 

Today Stacie and the Crunch Care team offers an effective assessment and recruitment process that meets the needs of individual families, corporate benefits programs, and organizational partnerships. The team is fully "mom-operated" with professionals from the corporate recruiting industry.  They are experts in interviewing, evaluating, screening, and helping families with their in-home care needs.

Julie Kelly, Recruiter

Julie Kelly, a founding employee of Crunch Care, was placed in her first job after college by an unscrupulous recruiter. The job was a horrible fit, and she suffered in it for months, believing when the recruiter told her she just "needed to get used to it". Years later, when she became an Account Manager for Robert Half International, a large international staffing agency, Julie vowed to be the kind of recruiter that she wished she'd had - someone who listened, cared, and worked hard for her career interests.

While at Robert Half, Julie reaped the benefits of a rigorous training program and recruiting model. She became adept at screening and interviewing candidates, as well as assessing client needs and making outstanding matches between talent and assignments. Her previous experience as an Account Executive for a niche marketing and advertising agency in Greenwich, CT enabled her to relate to the wide range of sales and marketing jobs she filled as a recruiter.

Julie resigned from RHI when she relocated to San Diego from Connecticut in 2001, and she became a corporate manager for a large wholesale mortgage lender, American Mortgage Network. She managed a staff of nine and oversaw customer approvals for over five years. During her time at AMN, she became a mother to two children, born in 2002 and 2005.

Today Julie interviews nannies, babysitters, and adult/elder caregivers as both a recruiter and a mother. She works closely with each hiring family to understand their needs and concerns. Julie relates to the challenges parents face in planning their long-term child care needs, as well as the child care dilemmas that pop up at a moment's notice. She works hard to create solutions for Crunch Care's clients and brings a personal touch to every job she fills.
