Crunch Care of Southern California, San Diego and Orange County’s


largest Nanny and Back Up Care Referral Company announces the


inauguration of their 2015 Nanny of the Year Merritt Award.


Crunch Care has created this award was created to show


recognition for the outstanding talent in the local community that is


easily overlooked every year.  The award this year will go to Maribel


Melo, a Live-In Professional Nanny that works for a local La Jolla


family.  She will be recognized for her outstanding achievements in


overall professionalism including communication, stellar


performance, and initiative to achieve more than most professionals


in the field of child care.  Stacie Steelman, Crunch Care’s CEO and

NannyAssociation said, “We are honored to interview and work with


many child care and domestic professionals each year. We feel we


should recognize in the local community when someone goes above


and beyond, taking this professional seriously and stands out


amongst their peers.  We have chosen Maribel Melo for this very


important inaugural award out of the hundreds of nannies we vet


and place every year.”  The achievement includes a Merritt Award, a


one year membership to the International Nanny Association,


ongoing professional training, an entry on Crunch Care’s blog, and


professional recognition in the local Nanny community.  The local


family who is Maribel’s current employer could not have been more


supportive of this achievement and award.


Melo has worked with Crunch Care for a 5 year period.  She is an


English Teacher by degree who worked in Mexico for many years


teaching English to executives for A&T.  During the recession of the


late 90’s Melo redefined her profession moving to the United States


and working at a Live-In Nanny.  She has worked for 4 families since


1995 and still shows passion and zest for her profession.  Steelman


says, “Maribel is someone that firmly stands out in the 9 years we


have been in business as a true professional.  She has consistently


communicated and consulted on her positions over the years,


enjoyed the families she has worked for, performed at a stellar level


at her actual job, and build lasting and loving relationships with her


client families.”


Crunch Care specializes in the recruitment of Babysitters, Nannies,


Special Needs Nannies, Baby Nurses, Senior or Post-Surgical


Caregiver,s Household Assistants, and Housekeepers.   They provide


short and long term services to private families and work with local


corporations such as Qualcomm and local law firms in affiliation with


EAP (Employee Assistance Programs). They are a women owned and


operated business based out of the San Diego and Laguna Niguel


communities and are a member of the Better Business Bureau


(BBB), the International Nanny Association (INA), and the
